Over 40 Weeks of Free Mature Athlete Workouts

We all get older. It doesn't mean you have to stop working out, but it does mean you may need to adjust your training. For that reason, we created these workouts, available to download free.

There’s now way around it – we all get older. That doesn’t mean you have to stop working out, but it does mean you may need to change the focus and intensity of your workouts. For that reason, we created the Mature Athlete Workouts. We currently have forty weeks of free training available for you, with more being added every week.

For that reason, we created the Mature Athlete Workouts. We currently have forty weeks of free training available for you, with more being added every week.

Tom Kelso wrote these workouts. Tom is currently an Exercise Physiologist with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. He also trains clients through Pinnacle Personal & Performance Training in Chesterfield, Missouri. For 23 years he was in the collegiate strength and conditioning profession. He is a strong advocate of safe, practical, and time-efficient training.

Mature Athlete Workout: Cycle 1

The first cycle of the Mature Athlete workouts by Tom Kelso. Train progressively using basic exercises and training protocols to safely enhance fitness and strength.

Mature Athlete Workout: Cycle 2

Cycle 2 of the Mature Athlete workouts continues to build strength and endurance, with an added flexibility component.

Mature Athlete Workout: Cycle 3

The third cycle of the Mature Athlete workouts is another 12-week program with a variety of training options and modes. This cycle integrates challenge workouts to keep you competing with yourself.

Mature Athlete Workout: Cycle 4

Cycle Four of the Mature Athlete training incorporates a new training plan. The primary goal is to improve your performance in your sport or activity.

About Mindith Rahmat

Mindith is a born mover. She has spent her life exploring various athletic disciplines, starting with ballet and modern dance from an early age. She went on to become a E-RYT 500 certified yoga therapist and teacher and discovered CrossFit after the birth of her daughter.

Mindith coached CrossFit at a number of boxes near her home in Southern California, which lead to her involvement in Russian kettlebells and Olympic weightlifting. She has coached a wide variety of populations and cares deeply for women’s health, specializing in pregnancy and postpartum fitness. She is currently studying the principles of Natural Movement and Kettlebell Sport, and is working to complete an additional teacher training in the Taoist art of Yin Yoga with Master Paulie Zink.

Mindith founded Breaking Muscle in 2011. Over 5 million people a month have visited the site, hundreds of thousands of them follow Breaking Muscle on social media, nearly 2,000 coaches have written or appeared on its pages, and there are thousands of free, fully-formed training plans freely available. Breaking Muscle has won numerous awards in the industry and is recognized for pioneering new approaches to fitness and coaching techniques. In 2021, Breaking Muscle was acquired by Barbend. Mindith continues to devote time to her kids, pursue her doctorate in psychology, do research, and teach.
